Il cliente

One of the leading international brewing groups, operating one of the world’s largest production plants dedicated to exports to the United States, launched a project to optimize its returnable glass lines.
The facility, with a production capacity of around 20 million hectoliters per year, plays a strategic role in supplying premium beer brands to the North American market.

The challenge

The company aimed to:

  • optimize three high-speed glass lines (148,000 bph at the filler), from the pasteurizer outlet to the existing case packer;
  • enhance product quality through the installation of inspection systems able to detect foreign bodies in filled and capped bottles;
  • replace the outdated pressureless aligner software with a more reliable and modern solution;
  • improve the container drying process before primary and secondary packaging.

Our solution

The scope of supply included:

  • new bottle conveyors integrated with existing lines;
  • a new automation panel and management software;
  • the addition of three inspectors per line branch, managed through Europool’s software for bottle alignment from mass flow to single line;
  • replacement of the old dryers with new-generation models;
  • an upgraded container drying system.
The results

The project was successfully completed within the agreed downtime and ramp-up schedule, reaching positive validation with maximum efficiency.
The optimization not only improved line performance but also ensured higher product quality.
Following the project, the company requested the same upgrade for seven additional production lines.
